MANUFACTURER INSTALLATION TIPS:

Mounting Flanges

Be sure to mount the cooler using all four mounting flanges. This will evenly distribute stress that can cause cracking.

Threads and Hoses

  • On pipe (tapered) threads, Anti-seize lubricant should always be used to prevent thread galling. Steel fittings are an additional added measure that can prevent thread galling.
  • Avoid damage to the oil cooler during operation. Hoses connecting to the oil cooler should be installed, supported, and tied down in a manner that will avoid vibration and pulling stresses being induced onto the oil cooler. Hoses must be fastened to the same structure that the cooler is attached to. If the cooler is mounted to the airframe structure, the hoses must be supported by the airframe structure. If the cooler is attached to the engine structure, the hoses must be supported by the engine structure. Do not allow engine movement stresses to be induced into the cooler through the hoses.
  • A back-up wrench should always be used when installing fittings into any oil cooler to prevent damage to the oil cooler.
  • Please note (if applicable) the threads on this part have been inspected by the manufacturer before shipment and found to be in conformity. Galling of threads is not considered a warrantable claim.
